Vincent Balnat is Professor at the German Studies Department at the University of Strasbourg. His research focuses on German linguistics, lexis (word formation, abbreviation, borrowing, neology, onomastics), contrastive linguistics (German-French), semantic change, history of the discipline (theories and institutions).
He is a Visiting Fellow at CAS LMU in May and June 2025 and works together with Prof. Dr. Michael Rödel (LMU). Together, they analyze how environmental vocabulary is used in the AfD party programs.
